Coinciding with the blockbuster movie swinging into theatres this summer, the Disney Interactive Media Group is releasing 'Marvel: Avengers Alliance' as a Facebook application-game in Q1 of this year. Developed by Playdom, the creators of 'Garden of Time', 'Wild Ones', 'Mobster 2: Vendetta' and other assorted Facebook games, 'Marvel: Avengers Alliance' is a role playing combat game featuring Marvel superheroes battling the most dastardly Marvel villains. As the story goes, recruited by S.H.I.E.L.D. - the secret espionage and peace-keeping organization of the Marvel Universe - to investigate a galaxy-wide disaster known as "The Pulse", the heroes first priority in the game is to defend New York City from the likes of Loki, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom, Green Goblin, Whiplash and other nefarious baddies. Players will be able to train their heroes, gain new powers and challenge their friends to one-on-one battles on Facebook.
