Strike! Fore! Touchdown! Bulls-eye! After a successful 2010, 'Kinect Sports' is back for 'Season 2' bringing six new sports to the mix. Picking up right where it left off, 'Kinect Sports Season 2' offers more controller free fun with a more diverse range of activities to choose from. New for 'Season Two', players who improve their skills can gain fans and there is more of a focus on voice controls to call and pick plays. As with the first installment, this is a deep package with lots to see and do. Golf Just when you thought Nintendo has this mainstream genre all wrapped up, along comes 'Kinect Sports' to improve upon the gameplay. Not only can you crouch or look ahead to scout out shots like a real golfer, its target system (stepping side to side) is far more accurate and forgiving. With Kinect golf you have far more control even without a peripheral in hand. Skiing Crouching to gain speed down the slope, leaning from left to right to swish through the gates and leaping off the ramps, it all works and works well. Tennis No real surprises here, nothing that breaks the mold. A word of advice, learn how to spike. American Football American rules? Rare rules? Argg. This is football but not as you may know it. First of all, you don't get to play defence at all. When the opposing team is rushing, all you see is a field chart and a description of what transpired. On the positive side, you can give audibles, pick simple plays and there is something to be said about the feeling of crouching down for a hut and then standing, throwing and making that perfect pass. Kinect Sports football isn't perfect but it suffices. Baseball Mirrors the 'Wii Sports' model except as a batter, you can direct your swings better, you have to run to first base and sometimes you have to catch fly balls. Still, it is so hard to score. Darts Could never get this to work well but maybe my Kinect needs better positioning? What should be an easy game is next to impossible because of the targeting issues. Use your hand to direct a targeting sight and then toss away. Even though you can distract your opponett, there is not much to it.
