India’s animation market is one of the fastest growing in the world. While some of the work is Western production produced inexpensively…most of the work is for the local market in the form of TV shows, DVDs, and Bollywood films.
Companies like Rhythm and Hues are simple extensions of the western counterpart while others like Prana and Anibrain do lots of work for western companies. Some are huge clearing houses like DQ and Tata. Finally, many mix teaching with production like Maya Entertainment which has over 5000 students in over 50 locations.
