-- Luke: AND I GOT A POWERBOOK A FEW MONTHS AGO, I NOTICED OS10 HAS SOME SORT OF MOUSE ACCELERATION GOING ON.

-- Luke: IF I MOVE THE MOUSE SLOWLY THE CURSOR BARELY MOVES AT ALL.

-- Leo: PRECISELY.

-- Luke: AND IF I MOVE IT QUICKLY IT JUMPS ALL OVER THE PLACE.

-- Leo: YEAH, ACTUALLY WINDOWS HAS SOME MOUSE ACCELERATION TOO. IF IT DIDN'T IT, WELL, YOU CAN TURN IT OFF AND MAYBE YOU HAVE TURNED IT OFF. TO ME, THAT FEELS SLUGGISH BECAUSE IT TAKES THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME, YOU KNOW THE SAME HOW DO WE DESCRIBE THIS? ACCELERATION IS THE BEST WAY, ONE INCH TAKES THE, THE SAME AMOUNT OF TIME TO COVER OR THE SAME AMOUNT OF SPACE ON YOUR MOUSEPAD TO COVER, WHETHER YOU'RE GOING ONE INCH OR GOING ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SCREEN. ACCELERATION MEANS THE FARTHER YOU GO THE FASTER THE MOUSE GOES SO THAT YOU CAN MOVE ACROSS THE SCREEN WITH A LITTLE FLICK OF THE WRIST. OTHERWISE YOU KEEP, HAVING TO PICK UP THE MOUSE AND GO LIKE THAT. SO WHEN IF, IF, IF YOU WANT TO TRY IT FOLKS YOU COULD TURN IT OFF AND YOU'LL SEE IT, YOU KNOW IT FEELS KIND OF SLUGGISH. SO DO YOU TURN IT OFF COMPLETELY LUKE OR --

-- Leo: BUT IF YOU'RE USING THE STANDARD OS10 MOUSE DRIVER, HERE IT IS, KEYBOARD AND MOUSE SYSTEM PREFERENCE PANEL THERE ARE ONLY A COUPLE OF THINGS YOU CAN SET. NOW, WHAT YOU'RE TALKING ABOUT IS WHAT THEY CALL TRACKING SPEED. SO YOU CAN TURN THAT DOWN. NOW WATCH, IF I TURN IT UP ALL THE WAY THEN THE MOUSE REALLY JUMPS WHEN I MOVE IT ACROSS THE YOU KNOW ALL THE WAY ACROSS, IT REALLY, IT GETS FASTER AND FASTER THE FARTHER YOU MOVE IT. BUT IF I TURN IT DOWN IT IS MUCH MORE, SEE HOW MUCH SLOWER IT IS? AND WHAT THAT MEANS IS AND I DON'T LIKE THIS I HAVE TO PICK IT UP, THE MOUSE TO GET ALL THE WAY ACROSS THE SCREEN. YOU KNOW I CAN'T, IT'S CAUSE IT'S BASICALLY A ONE TO ONE CORRESPONDENCE BETWEEN THE AMOUNT OF DISTANCE YOU'RE MOVING THE MOUSE AND THE AMOUNT IT MOVES ON THE SCREEN. YOU KNOW SOMEWHERE IN BETWEEN IS PROBABLY THE BEST. IF YOU DON'T LIKE THE TRACKING OR THE ACCELERATION, TRACKING SPEED IS WHAT YOU WANT TO TURN OFF ON OS10, OKAY? AND YEAH, YOU CAN GET IT DOWN TO NOTHING. BUT I WOULD JUST SUGGEST NOT ALL THE WAY, MAYBE JUST SLOWING IT DOWN. IS, IS THAT THE ISSUES THAT YOU'RE OVERSHOOTING STUFF A LOT?

I MEAN IT WAS, IT DIDN'T EVEN FEEL LIKE IT WAS CONNECTED TO THE MOUSE IN YOUR HAND. YOU'D MOVE THE MOUSE AND THEN THE POINTER WOULD KIND OF MOVE, AND, AND THEY REALLY HAVE IMPROVED IT QUITE A BIT. AND NOW THERE ARE A WIDE VARIETY OF DRIVERS IN WINDOWS AND THERE'S A LOT OF ADDITIONAL FEATURES, WHICH ARE NOT NECESSARILY, DUPLICATED ON THE MAC. SO UM, I, I'M NOT GONNA PROMISE YOU, YOU CAN GET THE SAME, EXACT EXPERIENCE YOU GET IN WINDOWS BUT THAT PARTICULAR FEATURE IS TRACKING SPEED RIGHT THERE. HAVE YOU PLAYED WITH THAT AT ALL?
